Alex Saw and David Sai are Burmese-born chefs, restaurateurs, and co-owners of Rangoon Bistro, which operates two locations in Portland’s Southeast Buckman and North Mississippi neighborhoods. The two first met while working in Malaysia and later reunited in Portland, where they began sharing the vibrant flavors of Myanmar through a farmers markets and pop-ups that grew into Rangoon Bistro. Their restaurants have earned wide recognition, including Best New Counter Service at the Eater Awards and being named one of the Ten Best New Restaurants of 2022 by The Oregonian.
